It's all over.

Last night I saw Deathly Hallows Pt. 2, the final film in the Harry Potter series. While I admit that I haven't been a fan since the release of the first book, I always liked watching the movies. And I'm glad that I got to grow up with the series now being called the "greatest series of all time."

It wasn't really until the series took a dark turn that I started getting interested in it. That made me realize that it wasn't just a children's story and I started to appreciate it more. I think that was smart of J.K. Rowling to do and definitely kept the fanbase interested as we all grew up. For anyone outside of my generation it's probably a bit harder to get into, and they obviously think that it's still a children's fantasy novel through and through without keeping up. After seeing the last few books in film their outlook would probably change.

Now that I know the entire story, I'm kind of sad that I missed out on the books. I own all of them up until the Goblet of Fire, and just stopped buy them afterwards since I couldn't get past the first chapter of the Sorcerer's Stone (I googled what happened in the book and used it for a book report lolol). I'm pretty sure I also own all of the movies up until that one and I wouldn't mind owning them all now. Maybe there will be a box set after the current film is on dvd.

After 14 years, the books and series have finished. I was only 7 when the series started, and ended while I am 21. That is a lifetime for me and my generation. I feel like I missed out on so much by not reading the books, so maybe I will try to give it a second chance but I am not the best when it comes to reading lengthy books. I want to learn more about the characters! Everyone is always saying how they have much bigger roles than the film allows and I'm kind of curious.

Tumblr kind of makes it hard to not love the series, and I can't stop thinking about the film. It's been a good 14 years Harry Potter.

Every Potter fan needs to go the Wizarding World of HP. It's a really cool experience that you can't find anywhere else. I'm glad I got to go last year :) even though Florida has the worst weather of all time.
